Ments Lab brings together a startup ecosystem, a fresh-produce network in development, and a technology team. The work is different. The intention is shared: understand what people need, make something useful, and keep learning from it.
We’re still early. These are the principles we want to practise as we grow.
01 / CURIOSITY BEFORE CERTAINTY
Start with the person doing the work. Ask what gets in their way, watch how they solve it today, and check what we think we know. A useful question can change the direction of an entire product.
Listen closely. Then open the laptop.
02 / OWN THE NEXT STEP
A screen, a piece of code, or a plan only matters when it works for someone. We aim to follow a task through, make the next step clear, and speak up when something needs attention.
Responsibility starts with “I’ll look into it.”
03 / MAKE IDEAS TANGIBLE
A rough sketch gives us something to discuss. A small prototype gives us something to try. Sharing early helps us ask better questions, spot what’s missing, and improve the next version together.
Make it clear enough to get useful feedback.
04 / BETTER, TOGETHER
Share what you learn. Explain the reasoning behind a decision. Give feedback that helps the work move forward, and leave room to change your own mind. We want progress to be something we can pass on.
Good ideas can come from anyone in the room.
